First West Nile death confirmed in Mississippi
The State Department of Health has confirmed the first death from the West Nile Virus for 2025.
The death occurred in Washington County. The Department of Health does not provide any details on the age or gender of the death out of privacy for the family.
Ten human cases of West Nile Virus have been reported in the state so far.
