One dead, three injured as car crashes in Coast Radio Group building

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)-There are new details on that fatal accident on Seaway Road and Lorraine that happened Friday afternoon.

Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer confirmed the person killed in the accident as 59 year old Elizabeth Thornburg of Gulfport. Switzer says she was an administrative assistant at Gulf Coast Radio when she was killed by a car which drove through the front of the building at around 1:30 PM .

The crash left three people injured, including the driver. They are all being treated at area hospitals but their conditions are unknown at this time.

As of around 4:30 PM, law enforcement officials had cleared the scene and the vehicle, a BMW sedan, was removed from the building.

Commander Clay Fulks of Gulfport PD stated that the cause of the crash is unknown at this time and it’s unclear if the driver was alone in the vehicle.  Their investigation is still ongoing.
