Two charged after deputies seize 22 pounds of cocaine on I-10 in Harrison County
Two people are facing federal drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop in Harrison County this week led to the seizure of 22 pounds of cocaine.
The sheriff’s office says a deputy pulled over a Kia Sportage Tuesday afternoon on I-10 eastbound in Gulfport.
Chloe Rankin and Jason Acevedo of Clearwater, Florida, were arrested after a search of the vehicle turned up 22 pounds of cocaine and more than $10,000 in cash hidden in duffle bag.
The DEA has taken over the investigation.
