Memorial Hospital welcomes new residency doctors
Memorial Hospital in Gulfport welcomes their first class of family medicine program residents.
It takes courage to become a resident, it takes even more courage to be a resident at a place that has never had residents before.
Memorial Hospital hosted a white coat ceremony for incoming first year and first class of residents.
The residents are filling health care gaps for the City of Gulfport by bringing their passion and desire to care for underprivileged communities. Memorial Hospital Family Medicine Residents Nazli Goktepe said, “We’re both excited to get to know our community better, get to know the community population at large, and just to see what areas are under-served and what needs to be done to make Gulfport healthier and better community by optimizing their wellbeing and by coming together and integrating medicine as part of their lives.”
Before coming to work at Memorial, residents graduated from colleges in India, Texas, New York, Mississippi, and California. Now their talents are here on the Coast.
