Local agencies release traffic plans for Scrapin the Coast
Scrapin the Coast kicks off today and law enforcement agencies want to remind you about anticipated traffic delays along Highway 90 this weekend as a result.
Gulfport Police’s Scrapin traffic plan is going into effect this weekend.
Highway 90 from Cowan Road to Debuys Road will only have one lane open in both directions with the other lane being reserved for first responders.
Traffic diversion plans are also in place.
In the event of heavy congestion, east and westbound traffic will be diverted north of Cowan Road to I-10.
Meanwhile, southbound traffic from I-10 will be sent west onto Seaway Road.
In Biloxi, all non-intersection crossovers on Highway 90 will be closed.
At the same time, most intersections on the event area will be closed and traffic lights will flash. Intersections at Debuys and Beauvoir Roads will remain open, as well as Veterans and Rodenberg Avenues.
The left lane in both directions is also closed to traffic, being used by emergency vehicles only.
Biloxi police say for traffic notifications, you can receive B-Alerts to your phone by texting Biloxi to 99411.
