Community comes out to help clean up creek in Pearl River County

PICAYUNE, Miss. (WXXV)- Volunteers in Pearl River County rolled up their sleeves today to clean up some of the county’s waterways this morning.

Volunteers were needed and headed down to the Megehee Bridge Recreation Area near the Ozona and Carriere communities, where they helped keep the watershed clean.

Community service hours were available, raffle prizes, and lunch was also served to volunteers.

This was vital for the environment and community as litter harms wildlife, pollutes water, and spoils natural beauty.
