New election resource for Mississippi residents

Secretary of State Michael Watson is launching a new election resource.

Mississippi voters are able to access important election information and report issues via text using the new ‘textmygov’ resource.

All you have to do is text ‘Hi’ to 601-586-7600 to receive guidance on a variety of topics.

For instance, if you text precinct you’ll receive a link to the polling place locator.

The Secretary of State’s Office is introducing a text alert system where voters can receive a text from the number 80946.

If you do not receive the initial text, you can opt in by texting ‘MS Elections’ to that number.
