D’Iberville opens a new outdoor sports facility

D’IBERVILLE, MISS. (WXXV)- The City of D’Iberville has opened a new outdoor sports center. The facility is located at the Rusty Quave Sports Complex.

It was made possible through a partnership with the National Fitness Campaign.

As part of the facility, you have seven minutes to go through seven movements. The exercises focus on lunges, pulls, and so much more.

There is a QR code on the equipment that can be scanned, offering a workout plan.

One D’Iberville Parks and Rec employee tells WXXV the facility is a welcomed addition to the city. J.T. Baxter said, “I think it will be a big plus for the community, also for our sports center. I think it will bring more people out here to try it out and get a good workout in. As well as when we have a game or tournament going, people can come over here and get exercise as their kids are playing,” said T. J. Baxter. “There are a few outdoor workout centers, but this is definitely one of the nicest ones. It’s a good addition to the ballpark.”

The new fitness space is open from 6:30 in the morning to 9 at night each day.

Rules are posted on the gear; you must be 14 years and older to use it.
