Is insulin accessible for diabetes patients in South Mississippi?

Today is World Diabetes Day, and Mississippi is leading the nation with the highest number of diabetic patients. 

With so many people impacted by this chronic disease, a critical question arises: how accessible are diabetic medications, especially with insulin shortages and the growing use of diabetes drugs for weight loss among those without diabetes?

WXXV 25’s Jordyn Lassiter spoke with the diabetes center in Ocean Springs to explore how these challenges are affecting the South Mississippi community.
