Laurel man dies in crash in Stone County

A Laurel man died Monday afternoon in a fatal crash on Highway 49 in Stone County.

65-year-old Bruce Gavin of Laurel was traveling north on Highway 49 when his vehicle left the roadway and collided with several trees. Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a crash about 3:15 p.m. to the single-vehicle crash.

Gavin was pronounced dead at the scene.

This crash is under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
