11/05 Ryan’s “Election Day” Tuesday Morning Forecast

It's Election Day, and there are no weather-related issues keeping you from the polls!

It’s Election Day across the country today, and South Mississippi has more warm & humid weather on tap without any significant rain. Like yesterday, cloud cover will stream across the area thanks to deep return flow ahead of a stalling front, and a short-lived sprinkle isn’t out of the question. Many South Mississippi cities recorded trace amounts of rainfall, while others received none. I expect about the same today, but even drier with any potential rain more likely to fall near the Louisiana state line. This afternoon will still be hotter than it should be with a high near 83, and skies fluctuating between mostly sunny and partly sunny skies (25-50% cloud cover). This pattern continues until the end of the week where cloud cover and rain chances increase slightly, cooling things down a degree or so.

Tropics: Tropical Storm Rafael formed out of PTC 18 yesterday, and is still expected to pass nearby to the south this coming Saturday/Sunday. A significant tropical impact seems unlikely as it weakens rapidly due to shear and frontal interactions. Stay tuned as things could change as it develops.
