Tornado warning issued for Southern Hancock County

Late Wednesday evening a tornado warning was issued for Southern Hancock County.

Residents in the area were advised to take shelter in a basement or interior room on the lowest floor of a building. For those who were outdoors or in a vehicle, they were instructed to move to the closest shelter they could find that would protect them from flying debris.

The tornado warning was issued around 7:47 PM and lasted until approximately 8:15 PM
