Amtrak to add stop in Ocean Springs for Peter Anderson Festival
OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV)- Amtrak will make a special stop in Ocean Springs for the Peter Anderson Arts and Crafts Festival.
The temporary stop will give festival-goers another way to travel to the event, set for November 7th and 8th.
The annual festival draws about 100,000 visitors to Downtown Ocean Springs, featuring more than 400 artists, crafters, and food vendors.
The Ocean Springs Chamber says the special Amtrak stop was made possible through collaboration with city leaders, elected officials, and other partners.
Ocean Springs Mayor Bobby Cox released a statement on the news, thanking Amtrak for recognizing Ocean Springs as an important stop and that the city plans to roll out the red carpet for Amtrak travelers during the festival.
