‘Women of Wisdom’ organization gives thanks to local first responders

Women of Wisdom, a nonprofit marketplace ministry, coordinated an appreciation event named ‘WOW honors First Responders’ earlier Monday.

The event was for first responders in Harrison, Hancock, and Jackson counties. Lunch was served to over 1,000 firefighters and police officers at over 80 individual stations in 14 cities and 30 different agencies.

Bridget Turan with WOW tells us why this event is so important to her. “So, this event means so much to me, my son is serving in the Air Force and he is a fireman in Okinawa, Japan. So, that is one reason why I do love helping first responders because he is a fireman, so it just means so much to me that the community, the volunteers come together to make this event happen. I could not do this event without the support from the community and the donations, the food, money, sponsorships, I just could not do it without volunteers or sponsor’s support.”
