08/09 Ryan’s “Technically Cooler” Friday Morning Forecast
Still hot and humid, but it is technically cooler for the next few days!
To be clear, it is still summer in South MS (hot & humid), but our next few highs and lows will be technically cooler. I say “technically” because if I wasn’t showing you the numbers, you likely wouldn’t be able to tell anything had changed. We started off this week with highs in the upper 90s/low 100s and dewpoints in the mid 70s, but now we’ve fallen into the mid-to-upper 90s with dewpoints in the upper 60s/low 70s. So you see, nothing dramatic, but definitely good to see marginally better “feeling” weather in town.
I keep wanting to temper those expectations though, because I want to be clear it isn’t going to be “cool” anytime soon…not even overnight. Lows still remain in the mid-to-upper 70s on the coast with slightly cooler areas inland, and highs will only bottom out around 95 over the same area, so things are only “cooler” RELATIVE to the conditions we’ve enjoyed over the last few days. We’ll see a bit more cloud cover ahead as well, adding a bit of shade to the equation, and eventually even the chance of showers as these clouds deepen.
