Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Harrison County Campus is set to host a Live Entertainment Technology Program Showcase on August 12 from 2-4 p.m. at the iMPAC.

This exciting event will highlight the college’s one-year Live Entertainment Technology program, which is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of lighting and sound design professionals.

The showcase aims to attract new students for the upcoming class starting mid-August, provide networking opportunities for graduating students and industry partners to facilitate employment, and create partnerships with entertainment promoters for future shows.

The iMPAC, a 54,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility, offers students access to cutting-edge technology, practical hands-on training, and guidance from expert mentors. Students in the Live Entertainment Technology program play a crucial role in designing and operating lighting and sound for various events at the venue.

Attendees of the showcase will enjoy live music, recording studio demonstrations, and guided tours of the iMPAC. “We are excited to host the showcase at iMPAC, where these students do most of their training,” said Jessica Crosby, director of iMPAC Business Development. “It not only gives us an opportunity to demonstrate the excellent training students receive in the program but also allows us to highlight our beautiful performance facility. Live Entertainment Technology students have been a part of sell-out shows like our recent performance by singer-songwriter Mac McAnally.”

Dr. Monica Donohue, Dean of Teaching and Learning at the Harrison County Campus, added, “This showcase is a fantastic opportunity for prospective students to see firsthand the remarkable training and career opportunities available through our program. We are committed to providing our students with the skills and experiences they need to succeed in the entertainment industry.”
