Red Radio Show

The Immersive Media Performing Arts Center at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Harrison County Campus is set to host the second installment of The Red Radio Show’s Black Box Series on February 17.

The event, filmed in front of a live studio audience, promises a captivating experience with performances by Patrick Sanders, Stormfolk, and The Heavy Strides starting at 7 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m.

The Black Box Series is a collaboration between iMPAC and Red Radio Productions South, aimed at providing practical work experiences for MGCCC’s Live Entertainment Technology program. The initiative also fosters a welcoming atmosphere for regional creators, artisans, and local businesses.

As you approach iMPAC, you will be immersed in the original songs of regional artists featured on The Red Radio Show. Step into the lobby and the Red Radio Creators Market showcases local artisans, including Good Cat Tattoo offering consultations and selling body jewelry from EMZ GEMZ, local tie dye artist with a range of clothing styles, Ultima’s Nest, a local grower from Long Beach, presenting locally grown dye plants and Butterfly Pea Tea and additional artists in the market offer prints and original pieces that range from hats to custom stickers.

The concession stand will feature options from various locally owned restaurants and breweries enhancing the overall experience for attendees.

The event captures the inspiration of old variety shows, with an artfully arranged host’s seating area featuring art with a living room feel. Filmed in front of a live studio audience, the event will be compiled into a fully edited episode of “The Black Box Series,” to be streamed through the Red Radio Productions South podcast.

Attendees can look forward to a variety of local artists, including Patrick Sanders, a local songwriter and sermon writer; Stormfolk, a trio of musicians from Pensacola with beautiful harmonies; and The Heavy Strides, a southern blues rock band from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Live painting by featured artist Greg Noll adds an additional layer of creativity to the event.
