Biloxi Chamber holds annual Breakfast with Mayor

Earlier today the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Breakfast with the Mayor.

Biloxi Mayor Andrew ‘FoFo’ Gilich provided a brief update on significant developments in the city, such as the extension of Popps Ferry Road and improvements to various city complexes, including pickleball courts.

One highlight of the morning was the Biloxi Chamber awarding over $10,000 in business grants to small businesses like Altered Reality Brewing.

They haven’t opened yet and the owners are thrilled to use the grant for signage. They are currently in the process of revitalizing an old building in Downtown Biloxi and are excited to get started before the city’s momentum picks up again. Co-Owner Jason Weaver said, “The downtown district, specifically around Howard Avenue, is really starting to explode. I think it’s going to be a good place. In the next five years you’ll see a lot of growth. We wanted to get in early on the growth.”

Mayor Gilich said, “Biloxi was the hub of everything back in the 40s and 50s. It’s coming back. It’s taking over again.”

The Biloxi Chamber of Commerce also unveiled the poster for the 42nd annual Biloxi Seafood Festival.

Additionally, they took the opportunity to honor an outstanding Biloxi police officer for their exemplary service during the second quarter.
