Mississippi Congressional Delegation backs Gov. Reeves’ disaster declaration request after severe flooding

The Mississippi Congressional Delegation is sharing their support for Governor Tate Reeves request for a major disaster declaration.

The governor requested the declaration from President Trump after severe weather last month. Senators Cindy Hyde-Smith and Roger Wicker, as well as Representative Mike Ezell and the three other representatives, sent President Trump the letter endorsing the request.

The letter pushing how the remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur brought 30 inches of rain to the state.

Counties included in that request are George, Hancock, Harrison, Pearl River, and Stone.

If approved, the declaration would unlock additional federal resources for recovery efforts.
