6/22 – Jeff Vorick’s “Scattered Thunderstorms” Thursday Night Forecast
Isolated-to-scattered thunderstorm chances are in the picture this evening. Other than that, the pattern is gradually changing back to the usual hot and humid regime. Any rain chances will be out of the equation by late this evening.
The front nearby is not very strong as area of low pressure is well to our east. But, thunderstorm chances will be around into this weekend as well. Heat will look to build back in by the time we head into next week. Strong high pressure will eventually take over the pattern.
In the tropics, two classified systems are spinning in the Tropical Atlantic. This is historic given it is only June and tropical waves off of Africa typically do not amount to much until August or so. Tropical Storm Bret will make an impact on the Windward Islands. Behind Bret sits Tropical Depression 4. It will likely become a tropical storm tonight or tomorrow and track north of the Caribbean.
