9/3 – Rob’s “VERY HOT” Workweek Forecast

“Hot and somewhat dry” are about the only four words that come to mind through the forecast.

The heat will begin to build over the next few days and heat index numbers look to move into the 108-110 range by Thursday then again over the weekend. A back door front and a NW flow and an upper-level disturbance should help kick off several showers/t-storms Friday keeping some of the area a bit cooler but areas outside the cloud cover will remain quite warm. The weekend shows the front dissipating and very little in the way of showers/t-storms production at the moment. The reason this occurs is the SW high-pressure will begin to migrate east as Dorian exits.

If heat advisory conditions are not experienced Wed they are almost certain for Thursday/Friday. The ridge then flattens across the deep south and will orient itself from the west coast out to the Bermuda high in the open Atlantic over the weekend. The high will then become quite amplified over the SE CONUS by the start of next week as a very aggressive upper disturbance digs into the inner mountain west. So long story short, the heat will be with us for at least a week just to remind us that it is still summer.
