9/11 – Jeff’s “Becoming Unsettled” Monday Night Forecast

Cloud cover will increase overnight, particularly after midnight. Rain chances will also come into the picture after about 2 AM. Our area has 20% chances for isolated showers, more likely east of US 49 and closer to the beachfront. It will be slightly warmer, but still mild out the door for the start of Tuesday.

The morning round of rain chances will eventually evolve into isolated to widely scattered thunderstorm chances over much of our Southern Six counties. Some activity could bring isolated pockets of heavy rainfall and frequent lightning. Wednesday will feature more in the way of thunderstorm chances.

A cold front will make its way into our region for the middle of the week. Combined with afternoon heating, scattered thunderstorms will develop across our area. Some thunderstorms could bring small hail and isolated strong wind gusts, in addition to frequent lightning and heavy rain.

The front will stall near our area but it will be somewhat milder for the end of the week. Rain chances will still be in the picture. Very isolated rain chances for Thursday will evolve to more appreciable rain Friday through much of the weekend.
