8/9 – Rob’s “Heavy Rain Ahead” Forecast

As an area of low-pressure over SW Georgia begins to drift west, the potential for HEAVY RAIN will be in the forecast. Deep tropical moisture and very strong lift will lead to widespread rainfall Wednesday through Sunday. FLASH FLOODING will be the main threat as the ground becomes very saturated, expect run-off accumulating in low-lying areas and areas prone to flooding. 3-5′ will be possible through the weekend with isolated areas of heavier rainfall. By early next week, he rainfall will begin to tapper-off as the low pressure moves into eastern Texas and dissipates.
