8/28 – Rob Knight’s “Rainy Friday Morning” Forecast
With Laura well to the NW, the tropical moisture continues to plume in from the Gulf of Mexico. The main concern will slow moving band of showers and thunderstorms that expanded through the area last night. The very strong tropical flow will continue to support this band of activity through tonight, so some areas could see a quick 1-2 inches or so or rainfall. This band will undulate slight east and west so while some areas in south Mississippi could see rain through the day, other areas could just have cloud coverage.
The moisture and instability will continue through the weekend into early next week before the pattern begins to change.
