8/18 – Jeff Vorick’s “Very Hot” Friday Evening Forecast

The heat is back and it will be very uncomfortable for a lot of you this evening. Humidity is on the upswing as well and the pattern will gradually return to our norm for this summer. Skies will remain clear overnight and it will be a bit warmer out the door tomorrow.

A Heat Advisory will be in effect from 10 AM until 7 PM. An increase in humidity means that upper 90s will feel like 110 degrees at times. Sunshine will remain dominant; only expect afternoon cloud cover Sunday. Heat alerts will likely be in effect Sunday, too.

Some changes will potentially trigger isolated showers and thunderstorms Sunday. Monday and Tuesday have the potential for appreciable rain. A tropical wave will make its way through the Gulf of Mexico early next week which will only elevate rain chances at times. Coverage will peak at around 40% Monday before the very hot pattern builds back in for midweek.
