7/9 – Jeff Vorick’s “Rounds of Thunderstorms” Sunday Night Forecast
Rounds of thunderstorm chances have been in the area much of today. There will be the potential for scattered thunderstorms overnight and again tomorrow. Rain chances are around 60% for the next 24 hours. Some thunderstorms could bring the potential for a strong wind gust.
The main issue will be efficient rainmakers and isolated pockets of flooding. Rain chances will remain elevated through Tuesday, and possibly even Wednesday. More sunshine can be expected towards the end of the week as high pressure builds in.
The heat could get dangerous Thursday through Saturday. Temperatures in the mid-90s could feel like 110 degrees. In the tropics, it remains quiet but one should note that the water in the Gulf of Mexico is much hotter than usual.
