3/31 – Rob’s “Thursday Afternoon” Forecast

Although we will not see the sun, afternoon heating will continue to develop t-storms across the area. A TORNADO WATCH continues as a few t-storms have already been on the SEVERE SIDE in and around Hattiesburg. The area is in a SLIGHT THREAT for SEVERE WX through tonight before the threat diminishes and move east by Friday morning. Rain will continue to be in the area through Friday night with a FLASH FLOOD WATCH in effect through Friday night. Rainfall could exceed the 2” point as these t-storms are capable of dumping quite a bit of rain in a short period. ALL FORMS of SEVERE WEATHER will be possible to include STRONG WINDS, SMALL HAIL, TORNADOES & HEAVY RAIN. The clouds will clear overnight Friday into Saturday morning with DRY conditions moving in for the weekend.
