6/26 – Payton’s Monday Afternoon Forecast
Good afternoon South Mississippi and Happy Monday! A beautiful day in store as drier air continues to filter into the area. With a weak cold front to the south, and high pressure to the north this will continue into Tuesday. There is a very slight chance of a pop up shower or thunderstorm along the coast, but most of the activity will stay over the water. As the front dissipates and the high pressure strengthens to our east, southeast flow returns. This will increase moisture in the area Tuesday night into Wednesday. Because of this rain chances will be on the increase for midweek.
Thursday and Friday look to be the wettest days with showers and thunderstorms possible during the afternoon hours. Temperatures will be slightly below average on Thursday and Friday with highs in the lower to mid 80s. However, with all of the moisture in the area it will still feel quite warm. Rain chances decrease as we head into the weekend. No tropical development is expected within the next week.
