6/25 – Payton’s Sunday Night Forecast

After an extremely soggy week last week, the forecast is looking better…at least for the next few days. A few lingering showers are possible along the coast Monday and Tuesday, but most will stay dry. North winds continue to filter in somewhat of drier air, but there will still be enough moisture to make it feel humid. Rivers continue to drop below flood stage, and all major rivers are expected to be below flood stage by Tuesday. Starting Tuesday night into Wednesday a typical summer time pattern will start to set up. Moisture flow comes back Tuesday night, which will increase rain chances for Wednesday into Thursday and Friday. The chance for showers and thunderstorms will be greatest during the daytime hours. Going into the weekend rain chances continue. Temperatures will run around normal for this time of year with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s with lows in the mid 70s. No tropical development is expected over the next five days.
