6/6 – The Chief’s “Lovely Start” Tuesday Morning Forecast
This morning there is a stationary front near the Mississippi coastline, with radar indicating isolated showers moving northwestward from the Gulf of Mexico. Temperatures will be in the mid-80s for much of the area today, and a few degrees warmer on Wednesday. Temperatures could reach 90 somewhere in our area Wednesday through Friday. There is a chance for afternoon shower and t-storms for the remainder of the workweek as daytime heating will induce the afternoon sea-breeze front.
High pressure will continue to be in place shaping the forecast through Thursday night before moving to the SW. A weak cold front will then move in with very little in the way of weather. This will however bring a drier air mass into the region Friday into the weekend which will aid in dropping overnight low temperatures into the upper 60s. Daytime high temperatures will max out in the mid-80s, but probably not enough dry air for a rain free forecast. As for Sunday and Monday rain chances increase a tad with highs in the upper 80s.
