5/22 – Rob’s Steamy/Wet 7-day Forecast

High moisture content continues as a very strong tropical air mass will affect the region well into next week. This will lend to the production of FLASH FLOODING…as slow moving t-storms will be capable of heavy rainfall in a short period of time.

Waterspouts will also be possible and will become more likely Friday into the weekend.

Through the next several days, rainfall looks to become the problematic variable as moisture axis over Florida will shift west and should orient itself from the western most tip of Cuba to New Orleans. The heaviest rainfall for the next 7 days should be along and east of the Miss River. Any location east of the Mississippi River will need to be alert of any changes in forecast conditions not only for tropical development but where the heaviest rainfall possibilities will begin to line up over the coming days.

An are of interest in the W’tern Caribbean looks like it will drift into the SE’tern Gulf heading into the weekend…as conditions will become more favorable for TS develop. This COULD IMPACT the area Memorial Day…
