5/1 – Payton’s Wednesday Afternoon Forecast
The warm temperatures and humidity are back and it’s feeling more and more like summer here on the coast. We will continue with the warm and muggy conditions through the rest of the week. While we could see a few popup showers during the afternoon the rain chances are quite low. Saturday looks to be the best chance for showers and a few t-storms, so if you’re planning to be at Thunder Over the Sound plan to keep an eye our for rain. Sunday looks to be somewhat drier, but we could still see a few showers.
TROPICAL UPDATE: A disturbance near the Bahamas is slowly moving towards Florida. As it does so it’s really not expected to develop into much, but will bring heavy rainfall to Florida. As it begins to move into the Atlantic off the East Coast it has a very limited opportunity to develop a little. Overall the chance it develops is very low and we’re not expecting much out of this system. This will have no impacts on South Mississippi, but it is a reminder that hurricane season is just around the corner!
