4/1 – Rob’s “April Showers” Forecast

Over the past couple days, the majority of rain has stayed north around the Hattiesburg area. Today will bring the passage of a cold front providing for rainy conditions from Hattiesburg into the northern Gulf. A few t-storms will be in the area this morning with mainly a rain event through the rest of today and into tonight. As the front moves east, rain will tapper-off from west to east tonight but the clouds will linger through much of Saturday as strong low-level moisture will follow on the back side of the boundary. A FLASH FLOOD watch continues as heavy rainfall will be possible. The SEVERE THREAT has moved to the east of the area but STRONG WINDS & SMALL HAIL will still be a possibility. High pressure will move into the region and dry things up Saturday afternoon along with providing BREEZY conditions.
