4/29 – The Chief’s “Final Weekend Of April” Forecast

As high pressure to the east moves further east, southerly return flow has commenced below about 10,000ft. This could produce a few showers or perhaps a thunderstorm over or near coastal Mississippi this afternoon. There will be a slightly better chance for convection Saturday and Sunday during peak heating, primarily near lake/sea breeze boundaries. I would expect any interruptions from precipitation to outdoor activities this weekend to be rather brief in nature. Not a lot of spread in temperature guidance through the weekend, so no real targets of opportunity for improvement. A “poorly timed” shower or storm could cause a few sites to not reach their potential highs, but overall, expect highs in the mid to upper 80s. Coastal areas will likely see sea breezes cap their highs off in the lower 80s.
