4/27 – Rob’s Monday Morning/Workweek Forecast

High-pressure in the region will shape the forecast through Tuesday as the return flow from the Gulf will move back into the area. An upper-level disturbance will push a front through the region late Tuesday night through Wednesday evening. There will be a brief window late Tuesday night and Wednesday morning just ahead of the front when the airmass will be conducive for strong t-storms west of the area. Moisture will be somewhat limited Tuesday night ahead of the front; this event won’t be a drought breaker in those areas that could use rain.

High temperatures have been running a little above model guidance, and with dry air in place, I see little reason for this to change through Wednesday.

After the passage of Wednesday’s system, upper ridging gradually builds eastward and will be centered over the Gulf of Mexico next weekend. No precipitation expected Thursday through the weekend. As the ridging builds in, high temperatures will slowly increase, with 90 degree readings possible, if not likely, by next Sunday.
