4/22 – Sam’s Wednesday night forecast
Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at the week ahead
A quiet and comfortable stretch continues along the Coast tonight, with mostly clear skies and lows settling into the mid and lower 60s. That calm pattern carries into Thursday, bringing plenty of sunshine and afternoon highs in the upper 70s and low 80s. Winds remain out of the southeast, helping keep conditions more humid through Thursday night as temperatures hold in the mid 60s.
Changes come as we head into Friday as the chance for rain starts to increase. While much of the morning stays dry, a few showers and thunderstorms could pop up by the afternoon. Coverage remains limited, but it’s the start of a more unsettled pattern that continues into the weekend.
Saturday looks to be the best chance for rain, with scattered showers and thunderstorms becoming more widespread, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. Even so, it won’t be a complete washout as we’ll still have dry periods mixed in. By Sunday, rain chances back off a bit, with only isolated afternoon storms and a mix of sun and clouds.
Looking ahead to early next week, highs climb into the low to mid 80s and even upper 80s away from the coast, with a typical early-summer pattern settling in.
