09/07 Ryan’s “Sunny Start” Labor Day Morning Forecast

Your Labor Day will start off on the sunny side, but expect a few more clouds and showers this afternoon.

We’re starting off Labor Day with sunny skies and mild temperatures, but the afternoon will bring another round of clouds and thunderstorm activity. The tail end of a front is inching into the area, which will act as a jumping off point for today’s showers and thunderstorms. That’ll give us a level 1 risk of severe weather, along with a few more showers and storms than “normal.” Dry air in the mid levels could allow for some gusty storms, so be sure to have a warning system like our WXXV Weather Authority app handy just in case. Rainfall totals won’t likely be too impressive, but at least a few areas with upwards of a couple of inches are possible. The moisture will continue to deepen for the rest of the week, leading to more consistent cloud cover and wetter weather ahead of the weekend.
