4/2 – Payton’s Monday Afternoon Forecast
A few showers could develop west of our area today but it looks unlikely in our area due to capping. Going into tomorrow there is a marginal to slight risk of severe thunderstorms. This will be for Tuesday night into early Wed morning. Severe weather variables support strong winds, but hail and an isolated tornado is not going to be negated. There should be strong wind speeds with the frontal boundary itself of 25 to 35 mph. If this combines with some of the thunderstorm activity, winds could easily rise into severe levels.
Another cold front will stall in the gulf south by Friday giving an area of focus for showers/t-storms development through Saturday. The front may get forced back to the north Sunday as another strong cold front swings in from the west affecting the area Monday night into Tuesday of next week.
