4/10 – Jeff’s “Quiet” Monday Evening Forecast

The start of this week will provide for a brief lull in the pattern across South Mississippi. Clouds will move back in this evening and temperatures will drop off again. Expect mostly cloudy skies and cool conditions tomorrow morning. Skies will feature more in the way of cloud coverage tomorrow.

Thanks to already-unsettled conditions across the Gulf, there is a Small Craft Advisory in effect until 7 AM Thursday. In addition to that, increased winds out of the east, then shifting to southeast later this week have prompted Coastal Flood alerts for Hancock, Harrison, and Jackson County. The southeasterly-facing shorelines of Hancock County will see the greatest impact from inundation.

An area of low pressure will be forming in the Gulf later this week. It will be cut off from the flow and meander in our area during the middle of this week. What we know is there will be elevated rain chances Wednesday and Thursday along with breezy to windy conditions. Exact details are dependent on where the center of the feature tracks.

Rain chances will peak Wednesday through Thursday afternoon. The low pressure will eventually be kicked out of our area by Friday. Another batch of unsettled weather looks to be in the picture for this weekend.
