3/30 – Rob’s “SEVERE THREAT” Forecast

With a VERY UNSTABLE airmass moving into the region, a stationary front to the south coupled with an approaching cold front from the west will make for VOLATILE conditions. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has the entire area in a SLIGHT THREAT…ENHANCED THREAT from Hattiesburg to North Mississippi. The threat will include all forms of severe weather with the NWS forecasting “low end ef-1 tornado potential and marble to dime sized hail in the overnight hours” in central/northern Mississippi. As the front will be slow in moving to the east, batches of energy will ride along the front through Friday afternoon before the weather begins to clear. Drier conditions will move in for the weekend.
