Some bad news out of George County High School this evening with the football program having to go into quarantine for the next two weeks, according to School District Director of Athletics and Operations Matt Caldwell.
That means the Rebels now have to forfeit Friday’s home game against Terry and the following road game at Petal.
As of now, they’re slated to return in time for the final week of the regular season, also senior night, against Meridian.
This gives George County little to no chance at a playoff berth in region 3 class 6A.
Caldwell tells News 25 that he’s made a full recovery following his extremely rough battle with COVID-19 during the summer.
George County joins the likes of Biloxi, Long Beach, Hancock, Gulfport, and West Harrison as the other Coast teams that have already gone through the quarantine process.
