HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV) — The Hancock County Emergency Management Agency has issued a mandatory evacuation order for some residents ahead of Sally.
The order went into effect at 7 a.m. Monday, September 14 for residents living in low lying areas, on rivers and inlets, bayous, creeks and in travel trailers, modular homes or mobile homes, homes under construction or partial construction.
On Monday morning, the Hancock County Emergency Management Agency in coordination with the American Red Cross and the Mississippi Department of Human Services opened the Kiln Shelter, located at 18320 HWY 43 Kiln, MS 39556.
Residents using the shelter are asked to bring all items to be self-contained (bedding, medications, personal hygiene items, drinks and snacks).
Pets will not be allowed in the General Population Shelters.
