Ocean Springs School District mourns the loss of English teacher Allison Dawson

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV)-The Ocean Springs School District is mourning the loss of one of their educators. English teacher Allison Dawson passed away Sunday morning.

Dawson was an English teacher at Ocean Springs High School.

The district says Dawson was an incredible educator that touched the lives of many students during her time.

Her passion for the students was recognized when she was named the school district’s teacher of the year for 2025, also recognized by the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce as teacher of the year back in February.

The district says their thoughts are with the Dawson family as well as high school staff as they navigate this difficult time.
