Tense moments for one Long Beach community after two camper trailers caught on fire.
Just after four this afternoon, Harrison County Fire and Rescue, Long Beach Fire Deparment, and CRTC responded to reports of an explosion.
Once they arrived they discovered two trailers engulfed in flames. Harrison County Fire Marshal Pat Sullivan says both structures were so involved they weren’t able to enter, but eventually put out the flames.
Both trailers were destroyed, but officials don’t believe anyone was injured.
Harrison County Fire Marshal Pat Sullivan says he is thankful to the quick actions of the first responders. “We have mutual aid partners with fire departments on the Coast. We assist, in this case Long beach sent an engine and we sent several engines. Our unit arrived first but within a matter of minutes Long Beach was right there with us. The cooperation between the fire departments on the Coast is excellent.”
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
