Hundreds of locals lined the streets in downtown Gulfport yesterday to grab a popsicle and pose with penguins.
Pop Brothers and the Mississippi Aquarium teamed up for the first of three ‘Penguins and Pops’ event.
With the purchase of a ticket, people had the chance to take pictures with penguins and enjoy a Pop Brother popsicle. A portion of proceeds raised also go towards penguin conservation.
Ric Urban with the aquarium says the event is all about forging community relationships. “Being able to share with our community about penguins and penguin conservation and what the Mississippi Aquarium is doing around the world for penguins is a great opportunity.”
If you missed out on this event, don’t worry. ‘Penguins and Pops’ returns to the Pop Brothers location in Bay St. Louis on January 18th and their Ocean Springs location on January 25th.
