Diamondhead Festival and BBQ Competition

Locals in Diamondhead and Hancock County made their way to a brand new festival on Saturday.

The Diamondhead Festival and BBQ Competition featured around a dozen BBQ teams competing for over $2,500 in prize money over four meat categories with the grand champion prize winner taking home $500.

Along with great BBQ being served, the Dave Mayley and Honey Island Swamp bands provided music all day and kids were entertained with a large kids zone.

Diamondhead City Manager Michael Reso says it is great to see community members coming together. “It is very exciting to have our residents come out and enjoy this special event, but also to have the rest of the community from outside of Diamondhead come in to check out this location.”

City officials hope to grow the festival in the years to come.
