We’ve got a Class 7A Softball showdown ad the d’Iberville Lady Warriors host the Brandon Bulldogs for a game three rubber match. It was a tight scoreless game through two innings. Sophomore starting pitcher Londyn Ford got her Warriors out of a bases loaded jam in the top of the third with a strikeout.
Getting things started for the Warriors was Senior Catcher Annah Niceley. Her line drive hit the fence in center field for a single. Right after Niceley was Abby Ledbetter and she rips one passed a diving shortstop to have runners on first and third. She can pitch, but she can hit too as Londyn Ford hits an RBI double into shallow left field bringing in the first run of the night.
Eighth grader Kieleigh West would lace one right up the middle bringing in Lexi Powell for the second run of the night. Ayanna Mitchell took advantage of Ariah Harvey’s walk and passed ball by stealing home for run number three.
The Lady Warriors would score three runs in the sixth while keeping the Bulldogs shut out in the process. The d’Iberville Warriors advance to round two of the Class 7A Playoffs with a final score of 6-0. They will face Northwest Rankin in round two. Best of luck, Lady Warriors!
