“Breakfast with the Mayor” gives the City of Biloxi the chance to hear from their leader on all of the projects and work going on in their city.
This morning at the Hard Rock Casino, Biloxi Mayor FoFo Gilich addressed the large crowd at the breakfast on a number of issues. Some of the city projects he touched on were the possibility of an east Biloxi convention center, infrastructure work, updates to Point Cadet, multiple extension projects, additional projects, and more.
The artwork for this year’s Biloxi Seafood Festival was revealed too!
Also during the breakfast, the Chamber of Commerce gave out dozens of grants to small businesses in the city.
With all of these projects and small businesses seeing some development, Mayor Gilich says it is just an exciting time to be a part of Biloxi. “You can just feel it. I feel it every day. People say what about this or what about that and that is all possible. We have so many good factors and opportunities, just the ability to get something going and there is just a tremendous amount of things happening. I don’t know how many millions of dollars, but it is a big figure.”
Multiple firemen and officers were honored during the breakfast, including the officer who played a key role in getting Darian Atkinson, the man who shot and killed Biloxi Police Officer Robert McKeithen, behind bars.
