The Margaritaville expansion project, while still in its early stages, is seeing some progress. When it’s finished, it will look like a whole new property.
Recently, the developers of the Margaritaville expansion project brought a master plan amendment to the Biloxi City Council. The amendment updates the footprint of the area to allow for this sort of expansion and certain amenities.
Those amenities include an amusement park complete with a large ferris wheel, a new parking garage, another hotel, an outdoor permanent food truck, and more.
The Planning Commission voted unanimously to suggest the approval of the change and the City Council is set to vote on it on July 16th.
Things are looking to be in Margaritaville’s favor. Cecilia Dobbs-Walton with the City of Biloxi said, “The City of Biloxi is very excited to have this. It will be more family entertainment, more entertainment in the east side of Biloxi, especially right when you come over that Biloxi Bay Bridge. You will see that ferris wheel when you come over, the amusement park will be great for visitors. It will be great for tourism and tourists that are coming to this area.”
The developers expect to break ground late this summer once they gain approval.
