Gulfport Fire Department testing fire hydrants throughout the city

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- The Gulfport Fire Department will be conducting fire hydrant testing and maintenance throughout the city soon.

During this time, residents may notice temporary drops in water pressure or slight discoloration of water.

This is normal and should clear quickly by running your faucets for a short time.

Drivers should use caution and be mindful of crews working alongside roadways on the hydrants.

The work should take approximately two months to complete.
